El jueves, un día despué que el nombramiento se publicara en el Diario Oficial, Ilona fue exonerada del cargo que asumiría.
Szabó reveló que la justificación para tal medida, según lo que le dijo Moro, es que la base del gobierno no apoyó la decisión. Su nombramiento, además, también llegó a ser muy criticada en las redes sociales por los electores del presidente Bolsonaro .
El motivo serían divergencias de Ilona en relación a cuestiones defendidas por el presidente durante la campaña electoral, como la flexibilización del uso de armas. “No estamos (en referencia al Instituto Igarapé) contra la posesión, pero estamos a favor de un mayor control en la tenencia. También discrepamos en la cuestión de la legítima defensa. Se abren allí, a nuestro ver, varios caminos para el aumento de crímenes violentos”, dijo la fallida funcionaria.
