Peruvian Airlines y Star Perú, la segunda y quinta aerolínea en el mercado local, respectivamente, se fusionarán tras la compra de ambas por parte de Global Investment Platform, dijo la compañía inversora de capitales chilenos, peruanos y de fondos de Indonesia y Singapur.
Para la operación, Global Investment Platform (GIP) anunció la compra de Star Perú, luego de que adquiriera hace unas semanas Peruvian Airlines, refirió la compañía, que no precisó el monto que implicó tomar el control de las dos aerolíneas.
Peruvian Airlines tiene suspendidos temporalmente sus vuelos porque la autoridad local le embargó sus cuentas bancarias por una deuda de impuestos tras la compra de dos aeronaves.
Global Investment Platform dijo que invertirán 150 millones de dólares para que Peruvian Airlines retome sus operaciones y costear su deuda que bordea los 15 millones de dólares.
“Estamos preparando el reinicio de las operaciones que será en dos o tres semanas más”, afirmó el vicepresidente ejecutivo de GIP Chile, José Antonio Ibarra, en su comunicado.
